Nice little collection Lorenzo.
There certainly are quite a few very good players around.
I especially liked the Steve Turner clip, can’t see how I could have missed that before.
ojvoj got some clips of Jörgen Fischer when he was toying around one day to warm up, you’ll find them on his website.
Lorenzo, Peter Laban sure gets a nice sound from that set of his, lovely playing reminds me very much of Seamus Ennis style, but smoother, very nice. best of all the sound clips for me anyway, not by a lot mind, there’s some playing by Pat and Steve also.
djm, Todd Denman also plays that same tune with Dale Russ on the Reed & Rosin album. And yea, I agree Mac about Steve, thanks for that link SWAUP. I had forgotten where he stored his clips. I still wonder what he’s up to.
I forgot a few good clips that are scattered around here and there, hard to locate. I really like Jorgen Fischer’s playing, Tom Kennedy is sounding good, and another piper who sent in to S&C, Jon Cooper.
This is a sound clip of one of our own C&F members and it should inspire every beginner with how quickly one can become a recording artist. David Shulz is just a youngster too, but intense.
David is playing an old familiar traditional tune (6/8-forget the name) on a 1/2 set of pipes by Seth Gallagher (unless he’s upgraded recently), and is self-taught in a short couple+ years (far as I know). His reed sounds perfect, as does his playing, and he lives in this formidably challenging dry climate in Eastern Washington State, just a couple hours+ north of me. So imagine the challenge of getting his playing quality up there (for recording) to this point so quickly. A really great progressive rendition of this old tune, perhaps overdone for some, but it’s what drives him.
David also plays the low whistle, belting out the reels at full speed. Visit his web site at: http://www.andochas.com/ and listen to his band, An Dochas.
