New Overton Tunable E Flat Whistle

Hello All,

I just received a new Overton Tunable E Flat whistle made by Colin

Goldie. To say that this whistle is beautiful is an understatement. The

workmanship is second to none. It has that wonderful Overton sound, is

totally responsive, and has that bit of “Chiff” which makes these whistles

so very special. Thank you for a great whistle Colin!

Have fun with it.

You lucky thing! Hows about posting a clip on Clips & Snips (to make us even more jealous)?

Congrats!

I have a G coming across the pond from him right now. I am also waiting on a low Eb. Once those two get here I will have High D, C, Bb, A, Low G, F, E, Eb, D, C and A. :astonished: Only missing the Low Bb. :sniffle:

You dont have a Bb? :astonished: How do you get up in the morning?

It is difficult, REALLY difficult, as you can imagine.

I am really having fun learning to sight read with all the different keys (yes, I am one of THEM, a sheet music adict  ) and playing duets with Renee on whistle, flute and piano. Quite the aphrodisiac
I am finding out!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Overtons also sound amazingly good when played in tandem with my Bleazeys, especially the low D combo.

Good Morning All!

Thank you for the kind remarks! Yes, I am very excited about the E

Flat Overton. It IS a fabulous whistle. I own a non-tunable High D

which is also a great session/solo whistle. Tuning is dead on.

And yes, to answer those probing questions, I also have a High C and

a B Flat on order. (So that I will be able to get up in the morning!) I do

have a question though, I have never posted something on the Snips

and Clips. How does one go about doing this? Any information

about this would be appreciated. I do not own any recording

equipment etc., what do I need? Also, what about posting pictures on

this board, how is this done? Thank you for your suggestions and

comments. I enjoy being a part of this great whistle community.

James Wilsing

Contact Dale Wisely about posting pictures, he’ll help. You have to either have webspace to host a picture yourself, or Dale can do it for you. I dont know much myself but Dale’s good about this sort of thing.
I have used a simple “Cakewalk” package (guitar tracks pro) to record a track onto my PC, they are not that expensive (£30). There is a forum linked to this one for Clips & Snips (see main Forum Index) Tony Higgins is the man in the know - he’ll help. Once you’ve recorded a track it needs to be converted to a simple .wav file (cakewalk can do this when you save your recording) and emailed to Tony.

Recording tip - turn you PC screen and any printers off when you record. They just add backround noise and electronic interference to your recording. You can use your PC’s mic to record, but if you can get a seperate mic, on a long lead away from your pc, all the better.

Thank you for the recording tips and also the info on placing pictures.
