Constructive critisicm welcomed, its the Pipe On the Hob/ Cook In The Kitchen
Thats very nice, steady piping .I think soon you will have to change your username.I especially like “The cook in the kitchen”.Tommy reck does a nice version on his album “The stone in the field”.
Have you heard it ?
I like your style of your piping - good and steady. mine tends to be a bit wild and all over the place.
Your version of the Pipe on the Hob reminds me of Clancy’s. It’s a tune i have been working on, except i’m going off Ennis. How are you getting those slurred C naturals?
If you’re talking about those expressive ‘Clancy’ c’s then I do them by shaping up to play a C, but before you play the note lift the chanter off your knee and then slide your first finger on your lower hand off the chanter. It takes practise but it’s well worth the effort to get it right.
Not the best explanation, but the best I can do without a demonstration.
Thanks Rory, thats where I learnt the tune, glad you like it.
Its a available on emusic or e-music or whatever that site is called.
Worth remembering that its not the best representation of Reck’s piping, but worth having nonetheless.
