FS: Paddy Ward Blackwood D Flute *SOLD*

This flute is just barely a year old, purchased new from the maker in April '05 and the head was replaced in September '05 (decided by Paddy after I sent the flute in for a check-up).

Paddy’s flutes are designed after his personal flutes, a matched set of D and Eb Hawkes flutes. This flute has a big, oval embouchure, a large bore, and large holes. The flute comes with one of Paddy’s handmade, tweed pouches.

This is a great flute but my first passion is the Highland bagpipe and I just don’t have the time to devote to a wooden flute. Plus having a little extra cash wouldn’t hurt either.

I’ll tease you with a pic of Paddy’s signature “pawn” endcap.

The flute was $750 USD new. I would like $700 + $10 for shipping, $20 for shipping outside of North America.

Here’s a sounclip I made when I first got the flute.

And here’s a couple more pics.

Send me a PM or and email. I’ll take personal check or money order.

Cheers,
Aaron

Just to note, the last pic does look like a Paddy McChudd “embouchure-less” but it is not.

What tune are you playing on the clip? You sound great.

The Traveller

Thanks for the compliment, Jim. Yup, it’s The Traveller. I got it from the Packie Duignan transcription on Brother Steve’s website.

As for the flute, a sale is pending.

Cheers,
Aaron
