I don’t think I’ve ever seen her with anything else than a cheapie whistle. Don’t know what particular cheapie though, I suspect it changes as well.
I’d assumed–or, rather hoped, being merely a student–that it was a cheapie.
Pooh.
Looks like I’m stuck making my own stylistic decisions! ![]()

I saw them play last night in Dallas. I didn’t make any special effort to verify the brand, but it looked a lot like a Susato.
I highly doubt she’s been playing Susato on regular basis with that band. I have a really hard time believing that she’s done so on any of the recordings or the time I saw them live (summer 2005). It’s hard to mistake that sound.
My guess would be a Generation or something similar. On some pics it sort of looks like an Oak.

It’s black with what appears to be a gold label on the front.
How many whistles like that about?
Avery, did you sell her one of yours? ![]()
Hm, black, conical bore, yellow or white something near the fipple, the fipple also looks blocky, that one looks like a Clarke Original to me.
It’s a Sweettone to my eyes.

Hm, could be. Sweetones are conicle as well. Too bad the resolution is so low.
Perhaps if we all flood the FM inbox we could get an answer??
I’ll go for a “Clare” whistle in this pic…

Bottom line is that she probably has a collection of cheapies and picks up the one she feels like at the moment. I’m 90% sure that I’ve seen her with a blue-top Generation as well.
So. . . one of us could email the band and explain that we’re a bunch of music geeks that want to know what kind of whistle Bridget plays . . . or would that be too stalkerish? ![]()
