All from '04 and who is gibby59 - have they joined the forum ?
They are probably still trying to get a sound out of them.
Ah- they’re a quiet set then
I bought one of these chanters - for the price what do you have to lose?. Added a chanter top by CJ Dixon to get a complete stick.
The chanter I got was well turned and I had no complaints about it. The problems are with the reeds supplied with it, they are sub standard, I got it to work using a plastic reed I got from CJ Dixon and was perfectly happy with it from then on untill I took the reed out to give it to somebody to try, and stripped the reed apart in the process.
Uilliam rebuilt the reed for me, it took him approx 5 mins, but the funny thing is that the chanter now plays in tune with itself in C#
. I am perfectly happy with that as where else am I going to get a C# chanter for under £200.
