Back from North Carolina

My trip to Mountain Dulcimer Week was great. Splendid even.
I loved the mountains. I didn’t want to leave. I spent a good deal of time site seeing on the to and from trip. I didn’t want to leave them and was disappointed when I got back to flat ground.

As some of you may recall I mentioned being nonplussed by the little hills of the Ozarks when my wife and I went to Missouri. I now know why. It’s because she was a nervous wreck which made me a nervous wreck.

This time I had no problems or anxieties about driving about as happy as you please.

I knew there must have been something wrong on that last trip because I’ve been in mountains a lot of times and never minded driving in them.

Anyway I had a great opportunity to explore the world of old time music as it existed before the recording industry and the music was constant all day and most of the night.

 Yaaayy, mountains are best you know…

Now wher all did you get to down thair in them North Cairlina mountains?

I knew you’d have a good time.

I hope you were driving a ragtop. It really is the only proper way to drive through the mountains.

djm

No ragtops this time.

I was in Cullowhee which is south of Waynesville and near Sylva on 107.
Waynesville is just off I-40.

I hope you will admit that it is terrible in them thar mountains of western NC. Theys don’t need anymore outsiders coming in thar and messing up tha place or driving slow. Did ya by any chance go by tha Sylvan Heights’ Waterfowl Farm? Horrible place, filled with a bunch of quacks
