A different kind of gig...

Last night I sang in a community/college performance of Carmina Burana. It was amazingly great fun. I’m not really much of a singer, but my wife has sung in quite a few amateur and professional choral groups. We both love Carmina so she pleaded with me to do this. Our daughter who has done a lot of singing signed up too.
The ironic part is, that our daughter injured her toe to the point that she couldn’t wear a shoe, so she couldn’t take part in the performance, and Charlene had some minor surgery yesterday, so she was sidelined too. Only I, the rank amateur, actually ended up in the performance!
Bonus: rehearsing Carmina once a week for about 2 months REALLY improved my voice to the point where I’ll be a better vocalist for the Irish/Scottish band I joined.

LE-- Michael Musial was the director of this production.

There’s nothing like singing to improve one’s singing. Good job.

hmmm sounds as if you were caught in the machinations of Fortuna

Thanks…
Not just singing, but singing with vocal direction was wonderful. The conductor was very good at getting the best out of us, most of whom were just amateurs. He kept it fun too.

AHHH…that’s nothin…

he was just showing orff.

Yes, you’ve now been bitten by a “gateway” drug, singing, and the beauty of voice!

For instance, first comes the whistle, and then comes the flute.

Whistles are a gateway drug, too.

How innocent!

Excellent! Wish we could have attended!

Wish we could have been there, too.

At least there is no VAOD (Voice Acquisition Obsessive Disorder)

oh, good…I have enough trouble keeping the ones I already have sorted out
