Has anyone seen this set, or have any idea who the maker is?

No idea…FWIW they don’t look like Pakistani work. There are a number of active makers whose work it does resemble…the drones look like Charles Roberts’ work but the chanter is a mystery.
Be careful.
The drones are definately pakistan. I’ve seen a set such as this up close.
For the record, with a new set of reeds, the drones played fine.
Good man, Davey…what tipped you off?
The fancy border above and below the photos, obviously
.
Oh, I had an identical set in the shop a year or two back…
Makes me wonder if within the Pakistani Uilleann pipe making community if there are some better than others. Just kidding, of course – but I wonder ![]()
Keith Easedale (apparently) plays a pakistani (unmodified) set.
One of the kids that I teach here in St. Louis has one of those chanters. Its actualy not that bad. I had to but a little piece of wax in one hole and the reed took a bit of work to get in tune but it works, kinda. Its in tune and the tones ok, no leaks yet either. I wouldn’t encourage anyone to buy the same thing though, maybe he was lucky.

Those pipes in the photo look a lot like a set of pipes I tried out at “Bagpipes Galore” in Edinburgh a few years back. I remember asking the guy at the shop if they were Pakistani and he insisted that they weren’t but were made by some guy who’s name he couldn’t remember that lived up around Fife (right…). Still, there’s quite a compelling resemblence…
