2007 Florida (SEUPC) Tionol, registration open.

John Maze has done a wonderful (and often thankless) job of trcking down and signing on the instructors for this year’s Tionol.

Here, in his (John’s) own words, is who we have onboard:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In case you have not heard, the tionol has returned to Gainesville over
the weekend of 9-11 March. We have a fantastic line up of teachers
this year, but so far since we only recently re-acquired the tionol,
not a lot of registrants.

I am writing to ask you to look over our webpage and consider
attending…

The website is:

http://www.southeastpipersclub.org

registration can occur via check or paypal. As usual, it will occur at
the Florida School of Massage (thank you Paul and Josie) including the
concert… which means one venue… no smoke… only fun.

The teachers thus far are:

Uilleann Pipes - Michael Cooney and Benedict Koehler
Flute - Siobhan Kelly
Fiddle - Willie Kelly
Concertina - Tim Collins
Button Accordian - Hilary Farrington

Reedmaking services offered by Joseph Smith (but you know Benedict will
be poking his head in… he cannot help it)…

I am currently working on guitar accompaniment. I had two possible
instructors back out at the last minute due to touring commitments. I
will be adding hotel information pronto.

Please let me know if you are coming. This will be great!

Thanks friends,

john

If you are planning to come, now is a good time to register. It will give us a very rough estimate of how many will be attending.

Hope to see yoos guys and gals there!

Thanks.

Out of curiosity, I’d like to know who (Florida Pipers) plan on making it to Gainesville for this Tionol? Speak up.

Another year, another big lineup for your club.

I envy you your bank account. :sniffle:

tk

What bank account?

Why don’t you come 'on down for this one Tommy?

Dying to go, being both a new piper and a relatively new (15 months) Florida resident…not looking good though. :frowning: Working that whole weekend, and would have to find a way to get it off…the almighty $$$…and it’s only 3 weeks before the birth of my 2nd child…and my 1st child was 5 weeks early. … …like I said, not looking good. But enough boo-hooing…

Please do…without enough attendees, there can’t be any events like this!

We need you!

There may be some Tionols who have found sponsors/angels, but I can tell you this aint one of them…funding comes solely from the registration fees and a few T-Shirt sales, and we pray its enough to cover expenses…anyone wanting to drop some cash John’s way..I doubt he’d turn ya’ down.

Yes, two months to go and the registration is not looking very good. It would be a shame to have to cancel this event.

To shamelessly lift a slogan off another celebrated pipe organization, I’m
uilleann and willin’…but need to be chillin’. No more cash spillin’.

I have to store up some fat for our own tionol, doncha know.

t

I fully understand… the fat part anyway.

I’m in much the same boat… between the $$$ to get from NC to Gainesville and the fact SWMBO is expecting our third on March 1, I won’t be able to make it this year (unless I could seek permanent asylum in the state of FL  ).

… there is always that possibility, I’ll look into a few 'safe house 'opportunities for you Reep. :smiling_imp:

How about our TN contingent? Matt? Doc? Yoos guys gonna be able to make it?

bump

The southeastpipersclub.org website has been down several times over the past few days.

Sorry if this has caused any issues. The web hosting company has a problem with the server this is on…and they are saying 30 days to get a new server in place…soooooo…

I may be switching hosting providers. This will mean the site will be down for a while during the switch.

If you’ve tried to access the registration and failed, please try again.

I wondered what was up… or down, as it were.

BUMP!

I signed up today! My bro Michael Barney and Christian Shackleton are coming as well.

Cool, it’ll be nice to see y’all again!

Jeez, it’s either feast or famine…nothing happening or too many things happening all at once!
Matt is probably going to make it down, but we have committed to playing for The Ulster Project fundraiser dinner.
To quote the Firesign Theater: “How can you be in two places at once, when you’re not anywhere at all?”…
I’ll be there in spirit… and if needed I’ll pledge my monetary support.
Rick

… make check payable to John Maze… a 1, with lots of zeros to the right of it.

Sorry you can’t make it Doc, would’ve been nice to see you too. Break a leg at the Ulster Project gig, and don’t forget to have fun.

Bumpity bump bump bump. It’s getting closer folks, now would be a great time to sign up.
