I know Nick Whitmer’s name has come up recently related to this topic. I wanted to add that I have recently had him make a set of C drones to go with my Whitmer C chanter, and I have to echo what has been said previously. My drones arrived when promised, Mr. Whitmer responded to all of my e-mails and questions promptly, he always communicated to clarify issues, and the drones (tied into a new bag…) I received are fabulous and play beautifully right out of the box. I have been piping about 10 years and hadn’t heard much about his work, etc., but I have to say that I am highly impressed by his skills and professionalism. Thanks Nick!
Nick make my full set. He has always respected his time estimates and, a little touch I particularly appreciated, send me photos of the various parts as they were being made. The quality of his work is first rate.

Yes, Nick is a great maker and a very friendly person. He made his short drones for a travel set I use and has always been available for questions, etc. The drones sound and look great too!

And the drones, he made for my pipes are the only uilleann pipe parts in my country, that works properly without any further work on them.
