I would like any opinions on Nick’s work and business either Private Message or e-mailed to me. I am considering buying a half set next year and his prices look attractive. I like the short set of drones. I travel all the time. Smaller the better.
Also any other recommendations for pipemaker.

no experience with him, and i am sure others do and will answer. i have met people who are happy with his pipes. and i have certainly not heard anything remotely negative.
but do not choose a maker just because you plan to travel.
as long as you have a half set only, you can find any number of cases which are easy carry-on size and will safely accomodate almost any half set of pipes. i use the gig bag on seth gallegher’s website. you just have to remove the tuning pins from 2 of the drones and lay them alongside. it takes less than 1 second. its when you have regs that travel becomes a little more difficult. and seth’s pipes are certainly not known for being small. although when you get regs, he does use a more compact configuration , so i am told.
