Louise Mulcahy plays the pipes on a couple tracks of the CD “The Mulcahy Family”. The whole album is well worth a listen.

Heather Clarke

Sarah Cory. She lives up in Seattle, I think.

I’ve never actually heard her play, but the word of mouth praise has been considerable.

personally, i have become quite taken with the playing of kara doyle, of new york. she has only been on the pipes for a short while and is playing circles around the boys.

How about Sorcha Ni Mhuire who teaches at Willie Week?

J.

I used to be a woman…Does that count?? :boggle:

You did not…stop lying.

He did too! I should know … oops!

You should “know”? In the Biblical sense?

Nice one Ben
Uilliam

Only if you can play the pipes too!!

i’m a lesbian trapped inside of a man’s body. does that count?

where’s Justine when you need her to shed light on this conversation

Not sure I’d want to see much of this in the light of day …

So, why so few recordings from these pipers?

I’ve seen Patrick D’Arcy and Debbie Quigley play together, at the 2003 San Francisco Tionol, and they were great!

I’d love to hear some duo piping recordings, say of Emer Mayock and Spillane, or maybe Claire Byrne and Mick O’Brien.

Hi elbogo,

Sadly Debbie and I haven’t ever played together… hopefully some day. The piper I had the pleasure of playing with on the occassion you mention was Susanne Ward… a wonderful lady piper and East Coast Tionól organiser.

Patrick.

Debbie Quigley is indeed a marvelous piper. The only recording I know of from her are a couple of cuts on the North Hero CD. Hopefully there will be more from her soon.

Best wishes.

Steve

Ah, Patrick, my mistake! For some odd reason I thought that was Debbie… Suzanne Ward… Another name to the list.
