I keep seeing the term ‘OT’ around here, and I want to know what it means, because, as you’ve probably guessed, I have no clue. 
Is it like ‘out there,’ or something?

Off Topic:
Pretty much anything that doesn’t start with a whistle hardware, session or tune question. Of course, that’s what makes this board so interesting!
Fortunately, due to the quirky nature of the Universe, a butterfly in China starting a tidal wave in America etc., any OT thread will usually include whistle-related trivia somewhere by the 15th post.
By the same Law Of Murphy, any whistle question will usually slip OT somewhere along the way and and up as a discussion of ideal cookie batch volume, local byelaws wrt whistling on the street, Andrea Corr’s smile, what I did in Limerick that prevents my return if I wish to retain my liberty and both kneecaps, etc. etc.

In order to help in fulfilling the immutable Laws so eloquently stated by Martin, I offer (as what will probably be the eleventh or twelfth post in this thread):
Sometime within the next week, I expect to pick up a full set of Susato VSB whistles; I look forward to this with some anticipation, based on what I have read here on the board. I’ve also purchased, within the last several weeks, brass tunable C and narrow-bore D whistles from Mack Hoover. I’m becoming very fond of the sweet and quiet sound of these. They are now my go-to whistles for quiet times and much of my practice at home.

(Given the range of posts thus far, an on-topic post would be the only sort that would be properly off-topic.) I wonder - is it possible to “nest” on-topic, off-topic in multiple layers? I could use a little clarification on Very Small Bore (should it be capitalized?): Is this someone of small stature (stature referring either to physical size or relative importance in the larger scheme) who is uninteresting, or is a VSB a person who is only minimally uninteresting? (Have I stumbled into one of these categories? Actually, I may qualify in several.) I guess if you get caught remarking about someone in these derogatory terms, you can always say, “I was referring to his whistle.” Always have your alibis on the tip of your tongue.

Tony, you could say Vertically Challenged Bore rather than small if you want to be more politically correct but it refer to whistles and then you will really need an excuse.

I live an hour away from Vancouver, where the school board is known as the VSB. Of course, closer to home is Abbotsford Senior Secondary, known as…, well, let’s just say they’re the butt of jokes.
