He and I discussed this when “Wooden Flute Obsession 1” was in the works, and he said it was time to do another solo CD. I imagine this takes considerable time to pull together, in terms of tune selection, arrangement, and recording. Don’t forget that he has a fair busy schedule with the Chieftains, has a pub and other business to run, and has a boat.= to take up his time.

yes, he was also working the Carty on the fiddle for some private, smaller gigs, but apparently Carty is now in the hospital or something?

anyway…

for my money…Stony Steps is Matt Molloy at his finest of all the recordings he’s done.
