Ok, any insiders here that might have the scoop on potential albums I’ve heard of? There was talk of Kevin Crawford planning a B-flat flute album, Matt Molloy and John Carty doing a flute/fiddle album and also some real faint talk of Molloy and Tommy Peoples doing one together. Anyone got anything? It would be great if they happened.
I’ve been wondering about Kevin Crawford’s rumoured Bflat album too. Perhaps it was planned to be released on Green Linnet before his/Lunasa’s split with that label…
I do hope he will release one at some point though.
Some solo Bflat playing would be yummi ![]()
(in the meantime there’s him playing Colonel Frazers on Bflat on Custy’s site Right Here!)
It seemed more than a rumour when Kevin had said he was recording some tracks for it. He contributed a Bb track of The Hut in the Bog/ Creggs Pipes for “Wooden Flute Obsession 2” , backed by Mick Conneely on bouzouki. There’s about a 30-second clip at http://www.worldtrad.org/WFO2_CD2.htm

Thanks for those links guys, I’ll check 'em out. I wonder if perhaps the ownership rights to the tracks recorded were retained by Green Linnet. If so, we’ll probably never hear the album. A friend of mine used to work there and said they’re quite tied up in legal wrangling now along with bankruptcy proceedings.
I took classes from Kevin this past summer in Ennis at Meitheal, and he said that the album was in the works, but had no idea (when we were talking anyhow) when it would be available.
