If anyone is willing to give a hand. I am desperatly trying to source some reeds. Both pipemakers in Australia no-longer seem to be making Uilleann pipes. Not sure if Adrean Geoffrey’s is making pipes in Ireland though.
The sittuation is this, I need new drone, regulator and chanter reeds, by January. The reason is,…is because I have won a recording scholarship called the Paddy O’Neil Award. Last year the award students (Beltane) performed at Port Arlington Festival and the Port Fairy Folk Festivals. The new group will be doing a demo recording at Yelp Studio’s, Warrnambool in January. At present I cannot seem to get one of the drones to work and most of the reeds are on the way out.
There is one reedmaker in Adelaide. But due to the current workload that he has; I think it unreasonable to rely on him to make them. If you are able to give me assistence (especially if you live in Australia) that would be greatly appreciated. Other commitments should come first. Please contact me by PM or on this forum.
