Reed emergency! Calling all reed makers

:sniffle:

I need help! (who amongst the piping fraternity doesn’t you may ask).
The thing is on a recent trip back to Japan from Ireland, the wonderful people at customs open my wee case that contained my reeds and proceeded to drop the bloody thing, (purely by accident I hope!).
Anyway, I tried to contact the guy who made them in the hope of getting another set, (7 bloody reeds all banjaxed!) but he is quite ill at the minute so that won’t be happening in the near future.
So any reed makers out there up for a challenge? I live in Japan, so its quite hot and humid in the summer and absolutly freezing in the winter (which we are still in up here in the North). I guess I was just lucky that the original reed worked so well, anyway. If you think you can help me, or know someone who can, let me know. Pipes are just sitting there, begging to be played!

Pol,

It would be helpful to know who made your set, the pitch, etc.

Alan Burton (you out there Alan?) makes a mighty fine reed. Maybe he can help you.

Good luck,

No E

oops sorry. Its a Kevin Thompson Chanter and Dinny Quigley dones and regs. Dinny had made the reed for the lot, worked great untill the great mishap! sob sob! :frowning:
