The Ramblin' Siuler Sheet Music

Where can I get a transcription for Planxty’s The Ramblin’ Siuler? I’ve Googled to death, checked bunches of indices. Even book indices. If anyone has this, I’m interested.

BTW, I’ve tried playing by ear, but have only managed to attract every stray cat within a mile of my house.

TIA,
Dave

Nothing here either. I love how Google asks: “Did you mean Ramblin Silver?”

I’ve only found two sites with the tune even listed.

I’ve just found four, but the most promising one, Digitrad, is down at the moment due to Mudcat’s ongoing house move crisis situation.

Here -with some strange glitches - is the search result for future reference.

Bad news. One of the links to Digitrad works, but gives only the words, no tune.

The Fiddler’s Companion has no listing for Rambling Siuler but has an ABC for a polka called Rambling Sailor.

BTW the title is quite redundant, since siúiléir (to give it its correct spelling) means walker or rambler.

Looks like nobody else had any better luck than I did. I was hoping someone might point out at least a BOOK that had the tune. Oh, well…

Hey, Roger, Brussels, eh? I was there for six months off-and-on 4 years ago. Got to watch NL play BE in Tennis Davis Cup, heard Slainte live downtown. Stayed with a Scottish chap - taught him that left-over haggis makes a good omelet! (Really!)

Anyway, if anyone runs across the RS tune, please remember this post. :sniffle:

As it happens, I visited Death Valley during the Easter holidays. Impressive.
