Any one know where to get some transcriptions to some of the melodies in some of the Planxty tunes. I’ve treid the session, but found little of what i wanted (Mostly stuff from The Woman i loved so Well and
Cold Blow and the Rainy Night). I assume that since a lot of the songs have words as well as pipe/whistle/flute melodies mixed is the reason that they arent on the session.org.
Anyhelp would be appreciated.

There used to be an Andy Irvine songbook - no idea if it is currently in print - that had some of the Planxty song repertory in it as well as much else. I don’t own one, BTW, but have seen it a few times, including in Foyle’s music department in London about 20 years ago! I got the abcs/dots for the Bulgarian Horos they recorded off-line somewhere within the last year - not sure where - may have been tunedb. Most of their stuff wasn’t especially fast, so is quite playable along to to do your own transcriptions.
