I have a Terry McGee 4-key blackwood flute for sale. Rudall-Carte style with short foot. Medium sized holes. Corked tenons. Really a fantastic instrument. Keys are D#, F, G#, and B-flat.
Head joint has repaired crack, which is not invisible, but has not been any issue at all in the 2 years I’ve owned the instrument. The instrument is otherwise perfect.
Comes with original hardwood case. $1,600.00 plus postage.
I originally purchased this flute from Heather Martley back in 2002. The crack repair was done I believe by the person Heather originally purchased the instrument from. Oiled regularly.
Since I had Hammy Hamilton build a new headjoint for my antique Metzler flute, I haven’t been playing this one very much, need the funds for another instrument (non-flute).
Wow! Eskin, I second with Azalin, you play very very well, and your recording is very clean.
Can you tell how you proceed and what mic you used for such a good sound?
I use a Audio Technica AT3035 condensor microphone running through a Mackie mixer, Alesis quad effects unit for compression, EQ, and reverb. Recorded and tweaked on a PC equipped with an M/Audio Audiophile 2496 board using SoundForge.
So, enough about me and my gear, who’s going to buy the flute?
Well, best of luck selling the flute, but by posting the MP3 I wouldn’t be surprised if this thread turned into a a discussion about:
– your ushering in a new era of crystal-clear MP3 postings on Chiff ‘n’ Fipple
– .. and setting a standard which hopefully will not dissuade others from posting, although with playing of that quality it may unfortunately be the case.
