My 1857 Metzler 8-key cocuswood flute on eBay

I’ve decided to put my fully restored 8-key 1857 Metzler flute up for sale on eBay. Includes a custom Hammy Hamilton headjoint I had built last year. Just finding that I’m much more into the pipes and whistle to justify having 3 high-end flutes.

It isn’t inexpensive, but the asking price is pretty much what I have invested in the instrument, might actually be taking a bit of a loss.

Here are a couple of recordings of the instrument:

Please PM with any questions.

Cheers,

Michael

Is the Hamilton-headjoint recording more recent?

If I’m right, your fingers are doing pipe things now, whereas before they were doing flute things.

Interesting progression . . . perhaps . . . or, I could be wrong.

Last I knew (quite a few months ago), you had listed a couple of flutes because you were playing this one most of the time. What/which flutes have changed that?

Nobody wanted to buy the McGee, so I sat down and played them both this morning. Both are great. I’d be happy keeping either one, both meet my needs… That, and there’s that eBay auction for the half set of concert Quinn/Koehler pipes that’s effecting my judgement.
