Stephenson 1/2 set on ebay

There’s 16 hours left to go on this half set and it’s still only at $500 (although there have been 17 bids on it). The last 2 minutes will probably be hectic.

US$810 final bid. Reserve not met. Guess we’ll be seeing this one again.

I can’t beleive no one bought that half set  , its basicaly a P.hunter half set, it will play as good as anything made by any of so called pro makers,I know! one of my half sets is by Davy Stephenson, and they are absolutely “Sh-t Hot”, :astonished: I don’t know what’s a matter with you Guys ouy there.

$$$$$$$ or, the lack thereof.

There was a high reserve on the auction.

Hello dyer,
mist the reserve, any idea want they were wanting as a starting price? this may help anyone starting out, depending on the price, may as well have a half set than a practice set if the price is right :astonished: . all the best.

Reserves are hidden, so I have no idea what price they were going for.

One can assume that it is higher than the last bid. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would expect a half set to have a higher reserve than the last bid. The seller isn’t trying to give the set away.

On his website, Davy is advertising a new half set, ready to go. The asking price is 2,750.00 Sterling (that’s over US$5,000).

Nice looking set but… $5000 nice. He might want to add a few keys on the chanter while he is at it.

That’s expensive - how does he justify it. Is he a full time maker. You can almost get a full set for that price unless is the metal work is gold or
silver.

He is listed on NPU but it does not give a web address and cannot find it using a search although certain other bits of information came up which may explain peoples reluctance to get involved with him.

Can someone supply the URL for his site

Davy Stephenson has been making pipes for quite a long time and studied his trade under the guidance of pipemaker Peter Hunter.
