…I find such neat things in it occasionally (no, I’m not talking about the water bill). My elfsong came today! It’s so pretty! And it plays beautifully too! I’ll post a proper review later after I’ve played with it some more.

What key is it Sam? Looking forward to your review!
high D. And your sheep needs a bucket, mister.
Nope, this is the ovine version of eating spaghetti.
He really can’t help himself … what would You do after you’d eaten too much grass yourrself yesterday?
I do like the D elfsong very much by the way. When it’s warmed up it truely lives in your hands. Mine has a very full sound … it’s a bit heavy though :roll: I can recommend the C as well!
If you think the elfsong is heavy, don’t ever get a serpent ![]()
Actually, I don’t think it’s that heavy at all. I like a little more substantial whistle, doesn’t make me feel like the first time I drop it that it’ll be destroyed (not that I drop whistles on purpose or am careless with them. you know what I mean, right?)
Hmm… yes but I don’t have that much experience with other high end whistles. So compared to the O’Briain improved and generations I play regularly this sure is quite a bit heavier. Any idea if a Burke Brass Pro is as heavy as the Elfsong whistle? I’m really curious about that… ( or the composite … or the aluminium?
)
Sorry about the question.. not really the right place, but I’ll give it a go grin.
Congrats, Sam. I really love my Elfsong, even its heaviness. And the Burke isn’t nearly as heavy as the Elf. I had a lot of trouble at first with it clogging up regularly, but somehow it healed itself. Weird, but cool.
Love mine too, heft included. Still my favorite Soprano D so far. Except, on the quieter side, I just got Stacey’s “Alba practice D”, which is a soft, wonderful little whistle.
Enjoy the Elfsong.

Oh my. Now I’m really wishing my budget was bigger…!
Gah! just when I had stopped thinking about my own on-order elfsong set (an a/Bb set, they’re supposed to ship this week) You had to get yours, back to bouncing across the walls again I guess. Anyway, I absolutely love my elfsongs (i have a D/C set) esp. the more weighty feel; and I can always count on getting a few ooohhs over the finish ![]()
