WOW. Why don’t I have a big bag of money when I need it??

Well, if you’re like me, you feel as if, due to the the exhorbitant taxes you are paying, you are single handledly propping up the fiscally irresponsible government of your very own country.

Is this set anything like the C snakewood set on Rogge’s site?

Can you spot the different with my set and Andreas set photo from web page.

i just did my 19thC. violin up with all snakewood and gold fittings (and pure gut strings I managed to track down which cost me 1/6 as much as the pirastro oliv strings I had been buying up till then…)

Should I post my Rogge Snakewood set on ebay.

A new C set without bellows would cost today £3800 sterling plus extra cost for Snakewood.

I will sell the Lefthanded C snakewood set without bellows for £2800 to £3000 strerling plus postage.

About the reeds in the Rogge C snakewood.

Chanter reed Cane made by A Rogge in November 2004.

Drone reeds Bass Cane with plastic tongue, Tenor all cane made by A Rogge
Baritone drone reed all cane by Charles Roberts.

Reg reeds all cane Bass by Andreas Rogge and Tenor and Baritone reg reeds was using Howard “Ready Tie” Cane reed. I had to sand the sides of the reed slip for the right head width.

The set is working sounding great.

The Andreas Rogge Left handed snakewood set is still for sale.

The chanter can be played right handed and you can access the keys ok.

If you what the set for playing right handed you will need to do the following.

1) Buy a new bag with the Rogge chanter stock/blow pipe and mainstock cup tied in.

2) Change the places of tenor reg with baritone reg and then you can play the set as 3/4 set with drones set up with bass drone nearer to yourself with baritone in middle and tenor further from yourself.

3) The bass reg is attached onto the mainstock with a brass metal sliding piece screwed on the mainstock. You will need a new brass metal peice screwed on the mainstock to able to play as a righthanded

Still waiting for that bag of money to show up, then I’ll buy it.
Might take me a couple of years though :sniffle:

Just curious… will you accept part payment in coupons and Canadian Tyre money?

How about indentured servitude.

…Or how about 2,000 Pizza Hut coupons? I could steal some newspapers and clip 'em out. Think of it man: a lifetime of happiness.

In all seriousness Fergus, I’d love to buy that set as I am a.) left-handed and b.) prone to having mildly disturbing dreams about flat sets. Unfortunately, at the moment I have negative funds for such a purchase. Is it necessary for you to sell the pipes right away? If not, I’ll see about hitting a few blackjack tables…

My D plumwood set and C Plumwood chanter wouldn’t be ready until 2 years time hopefully as I took skips stop on Rogge waiting list.

If I would get Andreas Rogge to adjust the Left-handed C snakewood set to right hander would anyone be interested in buying.

Please don’t :boggle: I haven’t given up on the tought to buy this set one day, maybe from whoever buys this now, or if I win the lottery tomorrow or something.

Got email from Andreas Rogge he said “Have no snakewood left to do so” for to make the new mainstock for righthanded.

I have sent another email to A Rogge to see if he could use other woods for mainstock with same colour as snakewood or screw a new sliding part onto snakewood mainstock for bass reg.

If anyone is going to the Belfast Tionol on Saturday 5 March 2005 I will have the Rogge set with me that day for all to see.

I am thinking about selling the set in parts. So if you’re interested and just need C regs or just what to play the set as a half set please let me know. Right handed players will need a new bag to play the set as a half set.

What about sourcing some snakewood for the project? You can provide that with the sale and a righty could take it to the pipemaker of their choice. It would be ideal if the Rogge workshop could do it for you or, at least, agree to do it for the new buyer.

The wood cost is modest, relative to the set. Then line up the rest and make the sale.
