Does any one know of a site from which I could download the sheet music for “Kean O’Hara”, which I believe to be an O’Carolan tune? I came up empty at JC’s ABC Tune Finder, which is generally my first port of call when I go looking for the dots and lines.
Don’t take the print option though, it’ll waste a full page of paper and ink.
Press the PrintScrn button on yer keyboard,
open up Word (or similar) or even a picture proggy like Paint (spit!) and Paste it.
Then arrange the size you want, and save a load of expensive ink.

Edited because this fool can’t tell the words KEAN and COLONEL are different!
I looked up Kean O’Hara in my copy of Donal O’Sullivan’s book “Carolan: The Life Times and Music of an Irish Harper” (2001, Ossian). There are three different airs titled Kean O’Hara, all in 3/4 time. I could transcribe it into abc if I knew which one you wanted. Can you abc the first phrase so I can try to match it?
“Planxty Irwin”, a.k.a “Colonel John Irwin” is a different tune.
This the Kean O’Hara air that’s on the Narada Celtic Treasure II CD. To print it, copy the abc, go to the concertina.net abc convert-a-matic http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html
paste the abc into the box, and click “submit.” It will bring an image up on the screen. To get a better quality image for printing, click on the “pdf” option.

My thanks to Sarah and the other folks who provided leads. The tune I was looking for is the one for which Sarah has provided the "ABC"s. Since the initial post, I have pieced some of this tune together–now to see if old ‘tin ear’ got it right!!
