I’ll be in Seattle next week for a Microsoft conference, am looking to play in as many sessions as I can find… I’ll be bringing an Uilleann practice set (full set too big for airline carryon) and a whistle or two.
I already know about the Wednesday night at Irish Emmigrant (no fun for me), anyone know if there is still a Wednesday night session at the Dubliner? Also, Thursday night at the Celtic Bayou, I plan to go there…
So that leaves Tuesday and Wednesday still unconfirmed for playing. Anyone want to arrange an informal pub or house session? I’d love to meet more of the Seattle trad community. I’ll be staying in Bellevue.
I think the only tuesday session is in spokane, on the other side of the mountains about a 6 hour drive from seattle. the bayou session is a lot of fun, then again I may be a bit biased. if you’re going to be in town on sunday there’s a session at fados at 4pm and another at the old pequiliar at 8 or 9pm both are a lot of fun.
The Sunday sessions sound great, unfortunately I’m only there Tuesday through Thursday nights… maybe next trip, but I’m still looking for someplace to play on Tuesday and Wednesday!
I dropped a note to Teri Kessler but haven’t gotten a response yet. I don’t really know anyone else in the area but I can volunteer my place for a Wednesday session. And there’s always the Tuesday one I mentioned on the pipe board if we can’t come up with something better.
I saw the hotel on my way home tonight, it’s pretty close by to where I live, we can carpool to these things if you want to. And depending on what time you get done with work related stuff, we could go to some of the musical shops nearby - Dusty Strings (fiddles, mandolins, dulcimers, cds, some whistles), Lark In The Morning (ergh…well, it IS here…), and Galway Traders (lots of irish themed stuff, a couple cheap whistles, lots of bodhrans and cds)

Eskin and I will be at the Celtic Bayou session tonight. I know there are other regional lurkers here, we’d love to see you. The pub is in a little plaza and it’s tough to see from the road, but there’s a Pet Supplies shop on one end of the plaza and a 7-11 on the other end. It’s right by the entrance to 520 West.
