Sam Bush Blugrass tutor DVD..

Anyone have a copy of this that they’d consider lending out? I’m not sure how into it I really want to get, so I’d like to check it out before I buy one.
Or, if you’re finished with it, might you be interested in selling it? Thanks.

Can’t help with a loan due to distance, logistics, customs etc. Sorry, Paul.

That said, if it’s the two disc Homespun tutor you’re talking about, I do wholeheartedly recommend it. Buy, beg, borrow or steal.

Sam is a natural teacher and comes across as a great bloke. There’s a tab booklet and he breaks the tunes down into sections. It is NOT a raw beginner’s DVD, but if you have the basics of chords and maybe scales then you can work through it if you put in the time and concentration. Some of the tunes I will only ever play in my dreams (‘Whayasay’ and ‘Brilliancy’, for example), but tunes like ‘Ragtime Annie’ and ‘Bile Them Cabbage Down’ are do-able: I can play both of those well enough to do them at gigs, thanks to Sam’s DVD.

Just to add:

Before I took up mandolin for ITM and folk tunes I had no interest in bluegrass. The instrument led me to learn, and to appreciate some of the fine musicians in that genre.

Some of the songs still evoke the gag reflex, but there’s some incredible mandolin music in there.

Thanks for the input Buddhu-- I agree that the postage thing would more than outprice the used copy price of the Bush CDs.
