The first-ever meeting of the Rocky Mountain Uilleann Pipers Club was held this past Saturday, September 13.
We had an outstanding response to the call, with 14 pipers in attendance, and several more that we know of that could not attend.
Eric Olson provided some excellent instruction on the playing of the instrument for the newer pipers (“Zen and the Art of Uilleann Piping” I like to call it), while Dirk Mewes led the charge in the “Learn a Tune Workshop” as he instructed the more experienced pipers in “The Bank of Ireland”.
