Has anyone had occasion to try Redwood drone reeds? They’ve been catching on a bit with highland pipers, but I was unaware until recently that they’ve followed the ezeedrone path and are making sets for uilleann pipes too. I’d be interested to hear any feedback from those who’ve tried them, if any. They can be seen here: http://www.boderiou.com/boutique/anches-de-bourdons/anches-redwood/jeu-danches-redwood-uilleann-pipes/
At US$125 per set, incl. postage to the states, they are a bit more than Ezee reeds. I should hope for better tone. That is three times the price of a set of cane reeds. Some find composite reeds a big help in varying climates, but nothing sounds like cane.

Hopefully they will be at one of the French festivals, Chateau d’Ars (July), Boulegan (Easter) or more likely Lorient (August) and if so will see if I can try a set. Will post on the French UP forum and see if anyone has tried them
