PRO-FILES

Hi guys,I’ve added a new section to the MOVIES section at www.kerrywhistles.com its called PRO-FILES.
Here, myself and others will play and review ,on video, as many quality high end LOW and HIGH whistles as we can find.
At present we have some nice footage of the Paul Busman high D and coming next week we will have Chris Abell,Ralph Sweet,OS Chieftains,Bleazey.
I hope this will build into a video archive that anyone can use for free to see and hear whistles so as to give more choice in deciding “Which Whistle”.
If anyone has any comments, please address them to phil@kerrywhistles.com (no need to post here)

Cheers

Phil.

Thanks a bunch! I love the movies and things you have on there.

However, you may want to edit your post. Isn’t the URL http://www.kerrywhistles.com ? :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow. Great stuff Phil. You’re doing such a great work for the whistle community. Thank you very much.

I have added PRO-FILES of a John Swaine Low D and a Chris Abell soprano F to the new section.www.kerrywhistles.com
More to come over the weekend.
Phil.

I thought I was going to make the first post of saturday, and Phil got me by nine minutes. What time did you get up?

Well, at least you were the first person in the US of A to reply!

Thanks Phil, these are a great way to learn new tunes from some fine players - just download then play back at slow speed using Windows Media Player.

I especially liked the Busman clips. That is a real nice whistle Paul. Someday.

I have said it all along Phil does so much more for the whistle community than just sell a product. I appreciate everything he does, heck I wouldn’t have ever heard of Lunasa if I hadn’t viewed them on Phil’s site.

The pro-section is just another innovative way that we can hear pro players playing his instruments. Lunasa has played Phil’s whistles for sometime now. When I spoke to Kevin at a recent Lunasa concert, he said Phil was the best, I agree.

Cheers to Phil.

Phil - your site is great! I was fumbling about - no others to get advice from locally. I bought a few of the cheaper High D’s and tried. It took a long time to get a consistet sound. Then a Susato Low D and a Dixon low duo. They are OK- but I’ve got some time to learn how to finger them just right.
In the interim I have been on your site alot. The lessons, the video product guide of each whistele and key - they have just been indespensible.

So over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been lucky enough to get a used Cheiftain Low G, and just yesterday a used Kerry Low D. Boy - what a difference a good whistle makes! I’ll say that the low D hole is a real stretch, but the holes are so well cut and rounded, that once I get the finger there, it closes very well. I have been playing it nearly non-stop over the past two days with hardly a sqeek.
I am extremely pleased! I can’t wait to collect some of your other whistles in other Keys.
Thanks for a great website and a great product!!!
