Hi all, can anyone tell me the name of the tune that Paddy plays with the harpist at about 25mins into the programme on TG4.ie webtv?? And has he recorded it on any album?
The tune that you are refering to Gold Ring is called “The Downfall of Paris”. From the information I can gather what we play on the Uilleann Pipes is only a small portion of a larger work called (I think) “Bonepartes Retreat” (please correct me if I’m wrong). It would be interesting to coalate the other parts; if they are still in existance and create an orchestral work.
