I get an error message needing a video codecs from Indeo and they want $15 for the download.
Same here; standard QuickTime donwnload starts, then warns me I need an update which happens to be unavailable.
I just got a still photo, but my Windows is starting to get a bit flakey, so that may be the problem (gotta reinstall…bother!). Hi anyway, Serpie-pie!

Indeo gave me the best compression at the lowest cost in quality. The need for the codec sucks, but it’s already there in the latest Windoze Media Player which you can D/L for free from MicroSloth… You Mac folk - well, I’m really sorry, but I don’t have a good answer for you. McHaffie, just remember that I live right “up the street” from you - just off 71 Hwy. I’ll bring me high-G to yer hoolie and bust all the windows and deafen the cats, if yer don’t watch yerself, lad!

Don’t you just LOVE the media player power struggle?
No such conspiracy - I loaded it and everything else still works. If you don’t pay attention and choose the right options, any of the media players will try to “take control”. They all make book on dumbass users who don’t RTFI and just let the installer do all the work. Check or uncheck the appropriate checkboxes, and nothing changes but your version of Media Player. Get lazy, and they’ll set everything the way they want it. Simple.
