OT- any gaelic speakers out there?

After having so much luck with my OT flute thread I thought I’d try another OT thread (the illicit drug of the board)
Can anyone translate “We’re Not Irish” (or variations of) into Gaelic for me?
(pronunciation would be nice too  )

SW,

You may want to have a look at these sites. It may take a day or two, but you should get lots of useful information on what your looking for:

Ní as Eireann muid - We are not from Ireland.

Nee ahs AIR-un mwidz

(Is ó Mheiriceá mé - I am from America - iss oh VHERica may)

Note: I am not a native speaker, nor do I play one on TV.

Hi I just saw your message - I am Irish, so here goes…

“We’re not Irish” - ní Éireannaigh muid.
you could pronounce it like - nee ay-runn-ig mwid

Hope this helps,
Dublingirl

I have found that some people from Newfoundland know how. My mother-in-law said they used to speak it in church when they were kids and she’s now 60.

A lot of Irish people emigrated to Newfoundland years ago. The name for Newfoundland in Irish is: Talamh an Éisc (the land of the fish!)
There is a lovely tune called “Bruacha Thalamh an Éisc” - the Banks of Newfoundland.
