Is this Tony’s old set?
I was thinking the same exact thing. I know for a fact his old set is in the possession of a certain Minnesota pipemaker, who has one just like it listed for sale on his web site.

If you compare the photos, you’ll see it is the same set.
The set is indeed Tony’s beloved set. As his friends are well aware, life has been having it’s way with the T-man. I did indeed buy the set from Tony for a local piper to use with the hopes that Tony would be able to buy 'em back.
But life is still having it’s nasty little way with the T-man as well as myself lately. I’d be happy to answer any questions regarding the set. I can’t speak for the Great Man Himself, but I imagine Tony would entertain questions regarding the set.
I talked with Tony at length last spring (I think?) about him lending me the MacKenzie and a couple of his other chanters to study for reeding. He was totally enamoured with the set, praising it high and low. It was his favorite.
Unfortunately, life struck him a blindsided blow and he was forced to let them go. I am certain it was an extremely difficult thing to do.
Well, I seem to have done very well to get an equvalent set a year ago on EBay for US2600! And a very nice set it is too. I sent it straight away back to Ian for a service - for very modest sum. Great service from a nice guy.
I have heard nothing but good opinions about Sue and Ian’s work.
Great unsung/unknown crafts..persons.
