a NEW set of Uilleann/uillean/bagpipe pipes, executed in ebony, with brass keys and imitation ivory trim, pitched (as a flat set) in the key of B. The set is inspired by the work of Coyne, Kenna, and Harrington.
Included with the set (that will be shipped directly from the maker, Brad Angus of Vancouver, WA) is a hand-stitched cherrywood bellows and a custom-made plywood stained pipe case.
The ad says the owner is in Winnetka, Illinois. It could be that he is selling it through the maker, and not that the set is being sold directly by Brad Angus.
Its an interesting way of seeing what a certain pipemaker’s sets are going for on the market (eBay), but a risky one, as one cannot predict what the market is going to be at any given time for a flat set - so it may go for less than its worth or more than its worth.
Just struck me as strange really, given the other stuff that the vendor normally sells on eBay. I suppose it’s possible he was on the waiting-list, and has decided to sell before taking receipt? Ah well.
Many makers find it easier to make more than one set at a time, especially when the sets are the same pitch. Brad made this set at the same time another B set was being made for someone else. So, a B set is available without a wait for some lucky piper!
