GARDAI WAITING TO INTERVIEW CONNEMARA ASSAULT VICTIM

The condition of the victim of the St Stephen’s night serious assault in Connemara has improved. World renowned concertina player Noel Hill is now in a stable condition at University Hospital Galway. Noel Hill sustained serious head and facial injuries in an assault by another man in a pub in Leitirmór around 11.30 on Friday night. (26/12) The 50 year-old’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening. Gardai investigating the incident say they have yet to interview Mr Hill about the assault and are waiting until his condition improves further. They added that an arrest is likely to be made either next week or the week after in relation to the assault.

Noel is in the hospital and has had a couple of surgeries and will need more. Most of the damage is to his face. He’s decided to go ahead with his class in Ireland in March and I assume will also do his usual US classes in the summer.

On the 2nd page is a link to a site called caring bridge on which someone has set up a page. There are updates from people talking with Noel and a guestbook on which you can wish him well.
