This should be of interest to some. At the end of the Willie Clancy week, some posters began to appear in shop windows announcing the forthcoming release of the 2nd solo concertina recording by Noel Hill.
His first came out in 1988, so it’s been a long wait, and I for one am looking forward to it.
He was working on it last month but it wasn’t finished for Willie week. He wasn’t happy with that 
I don’t know what he’s worried about. A lot of us have been waiting patiently for a long time for this. It’s not as though he sells to the passing crowd looking for Cliff Richard or Corrs records, not that many of them turn up for Willie week of course.
Has it got a title yet? That guy is the dog’s danglies when it comes to great articulation and ornamentation.

I saw him play for the first time on that Willie Week DVD (very odd filming, I enjoyed particularly the random shots of mailboxes etc, but there was some very neat music on it) and it reminded me how much I like his playing. (In a manner of speaking, for I’d probably listened to one of his records perhaps a day before, so it was not so much a reminder as… I dunno anyway.) His records are constantly in my CD player, particularly the one with Tony Linnane, so basically I am saying I’d be very excited to hear another one from him.
