This is a little off topic but if you are near Central Illinois and have some time on Labor Day weekend, the St’ Andrews’ Society of Springfield will be starting a new Celtic festival that weekend at Chatham, just a half dozen miles South of Springfield. More Scottish than Irish, I’d think, but this being the first year of what we hope will become an annual event, who knows what might happen? This will be different than the Highland Games held in the Spring, with less emphasis and no competition on the athletics and dancing - more of a chance to get out and hear the pipes and make friends.
The beer tent will have Tennant’s for sure and mayber Guinness, plus I imagine some of that watery Colonial stuff. Other than that (shrug).
