DH has been putting in a lot of time the past few weeks ironing out
details to
be able to announce that College Hill (Cincinnati) will be hosting a
festival over Memorial Day Weekend. The festival will be called
the
“College Hill Sampler” though this name is not cast in concrete as yet.
The
reason for the name is that many types of music will be represented
though
mostly dulcimer and folk. The three day event will include music, dance,
arts and crafts and will include activities for the entire family and
end
with a community hymn sing.
Organizations involved so far include: ARCH (Arts Revival in College Hill), the
College Hill Garden Club, Cincinnati Recreation, and the Queen City
Balladeers. The energy level is high right now but there is a lot of
ground
to cover in just a few short months.
Workshops scheduled so far are beginning dulcimer for kids, beginning
dulcimer for adults, Native American flute building, and quilting for
kids.
These will rapidly expand as instructors and facilities are identified.
There will be numerous vendors including food.
Mark your
calendars for Memorial Day Weekend, 2005. Information and updates will be posted on our website as they are available:

I’d love to have some of the whistle community represented. If you have suggestions please feel free to email me or DH (you can leave a message for him on our website).
