I gave in again to THE obsession today. I called Thom at the Whistle Shop and ordered a tunable Dixon Low D. I won’t loose sleep over it like I did while waiting for my Overton, but I’m excited. I almost seriously thought that the Overton might be my last low whistle. What a fool I was! Anyway, I have plenty of time before it comes to find a hiding place for it…and PLEASE…DON’T TELL MY HUSBAND that I bought ANOTHER whistle!!!
You’re a naughty girl! But we won’t tell! You honestly thought that you would stop buying whistles? I bought my first whistle around 2 years ago from the Whistle shop, a nice “cheap” clarke - huh! 21 whisltes later and I am still buying them. Does it ever end?? Does one ever reach contentment with the whistles that they currently own? Is there a cure for this WhOA disease? (I sure hope not - it is way too much fun!!) Enjoy your new Dixon!!
Wow, two years and only 21 whistles?? You’re doing great!
Must’ve been a typo – should be two months!
You won’t be disappointed in the Dixon, it’s a really nice whistle, easy to play, nice and light, doesn’t clog etc. and a haunting tone like all low whistles.
Let us all know how you get on with it, I’m a big Dixon fan!
Skywatcher - When my wife asks me why another whistle (Dixon Low D) I’ll tell her that your post helped me to make up my mind. “Gee, Hon, I saved over a hundred dollars ordering THIS one!”. Oh, well!
An on it goes . . .
