So, I have two whistles on order: one, a Dixon Low D is on backorder with the Whistle Shop and the other, an Alba Low D is somewhere between Scotland and New Jersey.
Every time mail gets delivered or UPS or FedEx comes around, I start foaming at the mouth. I hadn’t experienced such agonized anticipation since… well, since I was collecting guitars.
What’s the doctor’s advice on keeping a cool head during the wait (other than sedation, which isn’t an option for me)?

Play the one(s) you already have. Improve your playing. Learn new tunes. Tunes are way cheaper than whistles anyway.
Try to forget about them. It seems like I’m always waiting for a whistle to come in the mail, and when I want them it takes longer. When I’m getting something I don’t want, it seems like it arrives 2 hours after I ordered it.
I gave up guitar collecting and thought I was out of the ‘collecting instruments for the sake of collecting’ business for good, but I’m starting to think I’m already obsessed… and I’ve only been playing for 3 weeks!
I placed an order at the Whistle Shop and I’m DYING for the stuff to get here!
Would that Generation would introduce two new keys. Low G and low D, and price them under $20.

Don’t you think that Walton’s or Clarke or anybody else could also do the same thing? edit -with more consistency.
Recently I posted, almost bragged a little even, that “I may have WHoA but it’s under control”… That was until I was practicing with the worship team we have gotten together (from 3 churches) for a special church event - and we are playing some songs in A that I thought would sound great on whistle - so I had to order (from the Whistle Shop) an A whistle - and since I was there, gee, I might as well pick up a couple of other things too…
The good news is that the service was great and the whistles came basically the next day (it was two days later but I placed the original internet order at about 10 PM on a Sunday night). So I didn’t have to suffer long, and they came in time for the start of our church program last night.
The bad news is I saw more stuff that I decided I wanted at The Whistle Shop. So I guess my WHoA is not under control any longer…
HELP!!
Beth
The only saving grace with the Whistle Shop is their minimum order size for export. My hatred of paying vast amounts of Import Tax/VAT/Handling Tax to the gross greedy taxman is currently greater than my need for Import whistles.

ps Should any great and wonderful benefactor live close enough to collect and post for me (and take PayPal of course!), then I shall be seriously indebted …well you can but dream!! The taxman’s already had his ton of flesh for one year.
