Anyone have any experience playing a Sam or Sean Murray piccolo?
I’m maybe chasing one down at present.

Are some Murrays really stamped Muraeus?

I remember one on eBay many years ago.

My piccolos are an old German and a Jem. I go through phases of playing them.
I usually prefer playing a Bb band flute for that high sound.
Living in Glasgow in Govan/Ibrox I sometimes have that high sound ringing in my ears.

yes …! mine is ,and i know few others with muraus sign on flute… although it is stamped MURAUS not Muraeus …
even some of his older flutes have muraus stamp ( i think that m. clarkson old flute was stamped with muraus sign …)

Will double check the stamp of the one I’m looking at seller probably misread it.

Anyone play one?

Were the piccolos all made by Sean?

Only comment I found was an old for sale where the seller says plays like butter.

I currently have a Murray flute in the workshop that clearly has a “MURÆUS” stamp on the barrel.

I now have a photo of the piccolo and it is indeed stamped the same as the one in your shop.
