Last November I was in Galway Ireland and paid a visit to Powell & Sons Music. There I fell in love with a flute and bought it. Due to time constraints and the staff’s lmited knowladge of their flute stock - I knew very little about the flute - other than I liked it. The slide joint is stamped with three crowns, the name “Muraus” and another crown under the name (4 crowns). Does anyone know anything about this maker?
The maker is from Galway but I could not find anything about him/her online.
yes, it is murray flute.i recieved his flute in august with muraus stamp on it, and friend of mine recieved his flute two months latter with murray stamp on it…
but both play beautiful…

but, friend of mine and also very good friend of mr. murray have one of his flute made maybe 15- 20 years ago with also muraus stamp on it…
he was also supprised when he saw same stamp on my flute, because he thought that he was only one with that stamp.
he haven’t any rational explanation for that, but who cares if both flutes sound great…!
only mr. murray know answer on this question, but i think that we wouldn’t recieve any answer from him…

? my three friends and i bought flutes directly from mr. murray two have muraus and two of us murray stamp of it, so it isn’t retial outlet flutes feature…
