Starting bid is market price, but considering there’s no waiting, 725€ is a real bargain. If I were for another one I wouldn’t think twice. I’m really keen on knowing how much goes this for.

I doubt it’ll go mental like the recent keyless Chris Wilkes, as keyless Wilkes flutes are like hens teeth - This Murray will probably go for 1400-1500 euros - somebody mentioned on the Wilkes thread what if makers discovered that selling new instruments on e-bay … 
Less than an hour left and only 4 bids so far,looks like somebody will get a bargain.
I’m sure everyone will bid in the final minutes and seconds. I bet the price will go quite high. Good luck to whoever’s trying to get it.

The flute went for a fair price, a little over the new price and without the wait, 890 euros. Someone has a good flute I’ll bet

flutes just don’t get better then that, at that level, it’s mostly just preference, which one works better for you, but workmanship, Murray’s are at the top, with a few other makers.

Brotherwind, I’m sorry. There’ll be another one in a few months or so, perhaps? They seem to be showing up about four or five times a year.
Anyway, basically a fair price for a nice instrument right away, I’d think, it being a bit tougher to get Murray flutes over here … Having just made an unplanned leap on a traditionally long-waitlist flute myself, I wonder if there’s a way to come up with an average $ value folks like us place on avoiding waiting-list time (i.e., new price today x waiting list time in number of days = average $/per day we’re willing to pay to get it now).
I wonder if there’s a way to compile the data?
Then again, maybe we don’t want to know. 
As Cathy says another good instrument will turn up sooner or later. There was a Harry B’s Grinter up for sale a few days ago, then a keyless Grinter here in Sweden up for sale, and a lady on the Island of Gotland recently bought a keyed Grinter from Mr Levine, Pixxy recently purchased a 1 year old keyed Grinter from Italy, and there’s a new design keyed Grinter up for sale on the Whistle & Drum site at this very moment!! That’s five Grinters in the last 2-3 months. People seem to be unloading Grinters this year for some reason? Good that the price of the Murray didn’t go mental like the Wilkes that was sold recently on e-bay.

Though I don’t think it’s all Grinter’s changing hands. Mine at least was an Aebi flute and unless Harry B. parted with another flute, so was his.
I think it’s great that quality flutes come up for sale like this. Got mine through an add on the woodenflute.com for-sale page. I’m afraid of eBay myself, but it works for some.

Sorry Jeroen, my mistake - got a bit carried away there, of course your flute, and Harry B’s were made by Tom Aebi not Michael Grinter. So 3 Grinters then, and two Aebi flutes, and a Murray, and a Wilkes, and a partridge in a pear tree …

Interesting. I’ve never seen that turning on the joints or end cap of one of his instruments before. But there’s the trademark Murray blue thread!
