Looking for a chanter

Anyone have a Dave Williams concert pitch chanter that they would like to get rid of? I missed out on the boxwood one, cuz I am a procrastinator. I’d love a boxwood chanter, preferably Dave Williams or K and Q (Or a Cillian O’ B. stick). Anyone thinking about it? To fund this expedition I am going to sell my current chanter/ or trade if you are interested. I am looking for the more mellow-er tone of these makers. I just really like their chanters.

Liam doesn’t mark his as sold anywhere does he?

Check A Rogge site.

there’s is brand new boxwooden one with 4 keys for sale.

I contacted him, but thanks anyways. Either that or he does not want to sell me his chanter, which is his prerogative. I’m not being a troll, and am respecting the very polite email he sent me… So therefore looking elsewhere. Thanks anyways. Also U.F. thanks for trying, but I am not interested in a Rogge chanter, well I am but if there is a chance I can get one of the aforementioned chanters I am going to go that route first.

So thanks for responding guys, and anyone else got any info for me?

Oh yes he doeth…I had a hard day on the canal today and didnae have time to get onto the PC until I did and let the World and its Auntie know that the chanter hath Sold.

Wow, That’s a sexy chanter, with all it’s curves… haha.

There’s a Michael Hubbard boxwood chanter on NPU’s website:

That Hubbert chanter looks pretty nice…and the ad says it’s reeded. The listing doesn’t say if it’s concert pitch or flat pitch or what the price might be, but you can e-mail the seller for information.

You said that you lost out on another chanter because you procrastinated (a CP boxwood Williams chanter, and at a great price). It’s a learning experience. When you see the right piece, you have to jump on it, but most of us learn that the hard way. In 2008 I was looking for a good chanter and someone listed a Froment CP chanter on Uilleann Obsession for 2500 Euro, which is currently about $3368 USD and back then (when the dollar was at a low point) it was $4800 USD. For a chanter! Sean Folsom knew how much difficulty I was having finding a chanter and he said “Jeff, you just need to buy that chanter.” It was expensive, so it took me 3 days to email the seller to ask if she would take $4500. She said “sorry…it’s been sold.” School was in session. A few months later someone listed a full (4-reg) CP Froment set for sale on this forum and this time I didn’t hesitate…I e-mailed and pm’d the seller immediately telling him I could make a wire transfer that day and arrange to have someone collect them. This time I got lucky.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Some things are just meant to be: ) hope alls going well with the set Jeff.

Ben, I was hoping you might post here. Brazenkain made a cedar reed for the chanter and I’m enjoying playing the set every day. I’ve dis-mounted two of the regs for now (the double bass and the tenor), so I’m just playing it as a 3/4 set while I try to become more adept at playing the regulators. Thanks very much again for being kind enough to allow me to acquire that set! I hope all is well with you!

Good to know that you are enjoying this fine set. Soon you will be blazing on all four regs at the same time!

Thanks for the advice. I wish I could just jump on things, but I’m in my last semester of college, and (soon to be) living with the girl of my dreams. Money is scarce, you know. Trust me, in 5 to 10 years I will be a major player on this forum. (And buying everything my little heart desires) haha.
