Look what I found!!!

I found this on ebay and was wondering if it was one of you guys?? I want to get one. Please reply if you are the person selling these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=308&item=2374715928

cute, but to buy it now for $6.99 + shipping, I don’t think so.

A bit of a rip, really. $2.50, maybe. maybe.

It’s a pretty simple design – easy enough to do at home.

Save your money, t’ain’t worth it.

A lot of neat Chiff stuff there.

I kinda like it myself. A bit pricey though.

You guys think that is too much?? I am gonna get one just because it is nothing I have seen before. I am new to whistling and am getting all excited about learning it. Just a novelty thing for me I guess.

It is a bit pricey, but hey I just bought one in white. The guy is shipping it out today. I emailed and asked if he would ship to Canada and if I could get one in white. He replied straight away (good sign) and said sure. I don’t mind paying a little extra for something you don’t see everyday.

I’m not sure why this is an “auction,” but what the heck. I’ve offered them 5 bucks. That’s it. The advantage over a sticker is the vinyl peelability of the thing. Comes off your window.

If you had five bucks you didn’t need for anything else…

Remember, five bucks will buy you a new whistle (a Meg, anyway).

Well, don’t need a meg…and of course a clever thrifty person would shove all otherwise available 5 clam bills in a jar for something worthwhile…I think it’s that edge of impulsiveness I’ve unfortunately got streaking through my gene pool.

Plus, the thing about eBay is you can often assume you’ll be outbid and won’t be spending the $ anyway…it’s just those few times…

Yes I have the same streak. I ordered a Burke whistle the other day, just out of the blue. You only live once and can’t take your money with you when you die is the way I see it.

So, which Burke did you order–and why that particular one?

D Brass Session w/Black Tipped Head w/Cn Thumbhole
I downloaded some samples and it was a toss up between a Burke or a Copeland. I read as many reviews on each and they have a good reputation for keeping a good tune in the upper octave. I am also curious about the thumbhole.
I usually use my tweaked Clarke D Original and find that after awhile playing it, the higher notes are hard to get clear. So I am eager to see if this whistle is better.

I like the decal too! I’ve been watching one on ebay. Price just went lower today. It’s mine!

Yes but the postage to the Uk will be at least that :frowning:

I think someone got a color printer and a bunch of 7 year vinyl (whatever that is)!

I’d buy a bumper sticker like that for $2-3 dollars…do they have bumper stickers on the Cafe Press site?

edit: Yes, I guess they do, but I like the “Tin Whistler” design better…

I think many printer companies do sell ‘printable papers’, you know, stickers’ shapes already cut onto the surface. You can create any image you like and then print’em out. I don’t think 10-20 of such papers cost more than $10.

Besides playing whistle I also work on cars…you know, fast and the furious type stuff. A decal is a vinyl sticker cut to the exact shape of whatever the words or pictures are.

Unlike a bumper sticker which is just a rectangle with color printed on it. I use them often on my cars because they are so much cooler than bumper stickers and they are much easier to remove if you want.

When an ad says 7 year vinyl, that means it has a seven year outdoor life through heat, cold, and other weather conditions. This type of decal can’t be done on a color printer. It takes a machine that cuts vinyl (though, i believe that a vinyl cutter does resemble a printer).

I hope that this clears up some things.
