Plays (nearly) as well as a Sindt!

Seriously though, nothing wrong with people choosing to pay that price if they think it makes them a better player.
I want it bad, but alas I already have one and am holding out for a Meg.
Iāll sell my Sweetone for $500. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Bet you wonāt⦠![]()
Best wishes.

Its one of the less expensive whistles.
Obviously its not the tooter but the tootee. That is beautiful. ![]()

Well, Feadógs are as consistent as any whistle so you can reasonably expect it to sound exactly as in the clip, even if that wasnāt a black one.
Mr Gumby, I think he means OP original poster, me, and I would not have played it as well as you did.
I was meaning tune played on that particular whistle in the original post. Not necessarily by any particular individual, although there are a few people I do enjoy listening to. ![]()
Iām selling my Generation D for $75 if anyone is interested. Why pay more?
I like the whole irony of this thread alongside the $236 Sindt. Theyāre not any different.

Care to share any info about the tunes?
At that price, that whistle has to be a one-of-a-kind. Iām really looking for a pair of whistles. I had to pass.
At that price Iād want the label to be stuck down properly.
Hear, hear! Iām thinking of starting a Feadóg label repair service.
Ebay is strange that way⦠seems like no matter what sort of item youāre looking at, every now and then thereās one where either the price, or the post/shipping, is way out of line, something bizarre like $20,000 for something that is going for $200 normally. Usually the seller has simply hit some wrong keys and as soon as it comes to their attention they re-list it at the price (or post/shipping) they originally intended.
Just looking at Tattersall shirts the other day and a perfectly ordinary one was several thousand dollars. A while back somebody had the International Shipping for their small item at tens of thousands of dollars- they fixed it in a couple days.
Then there are people who are clueless (or delusional) about how much their item is worth. You would think that they would search similar items on Ebay to find the āgoing rateā. Itās one of the great things about Ebay, is that you can quickly discover what whatever odd thing you have usually goes for, no matter how obscure your item is.
I search vintage Highland pipes and vintage Highland Dress regularly, and itās amusing how an ignorant seller will imagine that they have some sort of treasure, when itās rubbish.
The most common thing is a sh!te set of Highland pipes make in Pakistan for which the seller has an elaborate tale, usually about how his Granda back in Scotland was a piper in The Black Watch and played these pipes throughout WWII, or how the pipes were recovered from a WWI battlefield, or how the pipes had been brought over from Scotland when their family immigrated in the 18th century, or some such gobsh!te.
But back to the topic of Feadogs, itās a matter of which Feadog⦠I wouldnāt sell mine for $125, or $225, or $325, because in over 30 years of trying hundreds of them, none has played as good as mine. Iāve made thousands of dollars with that thing, which I probably paid $10 for back around 1980.
This is an interesting auctionā¦I emailed the seller, and they apologized and said the price was a mistake. I waited a couple of days and the price hadnāt changed, so I wrote them again letting them know that although I wanted to believe they were making an honest mistake, they still hadnāt changed the asking price. Their next reply was truly wonderful:
**Hi
I downloaded the product from the store
Sincerely

Say WHAT? āDownloaded the product from the storeā? The only way I can rationally interpret that is āI downloaded a web image and used it in my listing (obviously), and donāt even have an actual whistle to sellā.
I immediately reported the listing as fraudulent. Thanks to the OP for this one.
