strange things that happen on ebay

lately i have seen 3 Bleazey whistles in less than a month on ebay, when i have hardly ever heard of them before. once i saw 6 thin weasles in a month, ans 3 O’Riordans in a month. isnt it strange how the same whistles will go like that? and lately there have been a bunch of Kerry’s. why do you think that happens. you never really see these whistles on ebay(except Kerry), and all of a sudden the same whistles go up in a month. strange.

potsmoker  -just funn’in bro

Hmmm. Could have something to do with the position of the moon.

could be :really:

Wish I could afford to become one of the new owners… sigh… A Bleazey would be a very welcome addition to the household.

i am sure whistle collector will have some soon  -i can see his WHOA a mile away-hold back brother :open_mouth: -you must control yourself

i am very good at economics, so i know how to control my budget. if i was rich, i would have every whistle out there.

and some

now there are 2 CB flutes on there.

:open_mouth:

I just see the one and a Busman as well.

there are 2 CB flutes, and a Schultz flute as well. i didnt see the Busman though. interestlng, maybe it is a conspiracy to make the flutemakers look bad, like nobody wants their flutes. who is trying to ruin these good flute maker’s names?

I suspect there is software out there that can spider the web, much like a search engine, and when certain key words are coming up, will place such items for sale.

So, when we start talking about Bleezy whistles or whatever they are, the software will pick up on that, compile a for-sale listing in eBay and there you go.

I wonder if we started posting about some misspelled whistles if the eBay listings would start carrying the misspellings. That might prove my suspicions.

This kind of thing is common on ebay, it’s the same with pretty much any kind of item. I collect coins and the same things happen there, you don’t see a particular one for years then all of a sudden 2 or 3 pop up one after the other. The reason for this is usually because someone who has one sees one selling for a good price and decides to sell their own hoping to make the same.

I think that is especially true for O’Riordans right now. I’ve even heard a conversation between two whistlers at a session talking about selling theirs once they saw what they were going for on Ebay.

Figured I might as well post the current Ebay auctions that I am able to find for whistles:

O’Riordan Irish Penny Whistle
A bunch of Irish Tin or Penny whistles plus
Ralph Sweet Pennywhistle/ Sweetheart D Whistle & Case
Michael Copeland Eb whistle - sterling silver!
Busman Irish Penny Whistle

If anyone’s tempted by those, please consider my Sweetheart Pro D whistle with fife head, (duo). I’ll match the price of $135, and will pay shipping/handling. (This would be $180 new). Has a case, but not the one you see pictured. Great whistle and fife set. It’s just not getting played these days. PM me, if interested.

that Busman is beautiful, what wood is that?

TWC, it says it’s rosewood. Pretty whistle!

This is a Paul Busman Rosewood Irish Penny Whistle in great condition

This O’Riordan C/D set just ended at $1047. And the sister Thin Weasel set sold at $610.
