locking threads

There was some discussion about deleting threads in Cranberry’s topic about locking threads. Cranberry is of the view that threads over 20 pages should be locked or some such nonsense. Cranberry was phantasizing about being a moderator and what he or she would do.

Another way to minimise material is to delete posts in a topic. Now if I were a moderator this is what I would do to Cranberry’s topic. This is what the topic would look like after I’d finished with it.

heh heh heh …

I never said threads over 20 pages should be locked.

What I meant is that when the whole forum reaches a certain number of pages (I used 20 as an example) the older ones (especially the off-topic and non-informative ones) past page 20 would be deleted, if I were moderator (and of course I’m not, I’m just the nanny here, remember?).

Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

I never said you did! I said,

Cranberry is of the view that threads over 20 pages should be locked or some such nonsense.

Notice the words “or some such nonsense”? That means anything else you may have meant and implies that what I think you may have said may not be the case and the latter phrase is there to cover all the other options which are nonsensical.

Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

You are a special person.

Minimalism is good.

S’mall s’good.

:really:

Now that you’ve stirred up trouble . . .

I think I must be a protein deficient vegetarian or something.

I just had this strange vision of a lamb stew being stirred with a chop stick …
:sunglasses:

A hallucination. I assure you it has no basis in fact. None of my choice bits are missing.

Have you tried professional assistance for this?

A lot of professionals wouldn’t say this but, as far as I am concerned, there are two ways of remedying protein deficiency:-

  1. Eat more protein
  2. Eat less starch sourced carbohydrates and refined sugars.

So special that I think Barney the purple dinosaur should pay you a house call!

Ooooh! And he’ll SING! All together now . . .

I love you,
You love me,
We’re a happy family,
With a great big hug and a kiss for me and you!
Won’t you say you love Tal, too!

Don’t you feel better now? Can you feel the LUUUUUV?

Luv is a special trick usually played by women
to get over protein fed, over active children
to lie still and go to sleep …

Come on, Tal, even I know that love is more than that.

OK. I know who Barney is, I’ve seen pictures of him, but I’m beginning to think I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t know the tune to that song. (How hard should I try to keep it that way?)

Mmmmm. Choice bits. Kibbles and bits.

Frankly, if you’re not a vegetarian what’s the difference whether there is lamb or cat in your stew? I have heard cat with lime rind is quite nice.

I mean, why should third world cuisine kowtow to the sensitivities of the privileged industrialised nations? You know, the civilised nations that love their WHALE meat and beef fattened on grains (you know grains - thats waht a lot of starving africans and asians cannot afford) …

I know you think you understand what you though I said, but I think that what you thought I said was not what I meant.

Not very. Do you know the tune to the nursery rhyme “This Old Man (He Played One)”? It’s the same tune, but slowed down.
